This blog is designed for upper elementary to lower middle school students. Many have seen the news about the oil spill on t.v. and in the newspaper, but what do you really know about what happened and the effects? The purpose of this blog is to give you a more in-depth understanding and find a way for you to help! Answer now: Do you think enough is being done in the Gulf?
Do you think enough is being done to help the animals that are being harmed by the oil spill?
Wow that view really was amazing. I liked getting that different perspective. It was interesting viewing the "snot balls", lack of light, how the scientists were not afraid of animals in the water, but of the chemicals, and the shot at the end when the diver comes up out of that thick layer of oil. -Caitlin Cuffney
This is something I really didn't think about. Common knowledge says that oil and water don't mix, so you would think that undersea damage would be limited. How wrong that notion is!

I didn't initially think about how the oil was cutting off the energy source for so many marine creatures... the sun.
